Take a trip into the wilderness with your year 7 and secondary school students.
Build on lessons learnt in the classroom on a once in a lifetime adventure with your students. Supporting personal development, enhancing teamwork and communication skills, and encouraging independent thinking, secondary school trips are a great opportunity for students to learn outside the classroom.
Whether your students visit for a short 2-day stay or a longer 5-day residential they will become immersed in the outdoors in some of the UK’s most beautiful woodlands and test their survival skills with a range of Bushcraft activities.
Year 7 trips are the perfect way to commemorate your students first year at secondary school. Whether you come in autumn as a way to start the new year with an adventure, or in summer to celebrate the completion of the first year, a year 7 trip with The Bushcraft Company can be an important stepping stone in your students educational pathway.
Surrounded by stunning woodland, everything that secondary students will do will be in the wilderness, from sleeping in yurts and eating in the open air to all the activities. Secondary students will take part in activities such as shelter building, archery, fire making, tomahawk throwing, wild cooking, camouflaging, trap making, exploring the environment and learning about life in the great outdoors. Take a look at our video to see all this in action!
With lots to keep students learning and active during the day and evening, a Bushcraft camp is full of fun and excitement for all.
All of our activities are designed to encapsulate the skills needed for wilderness survival. Appropriate for secondary aged students up to 14, the activities give pupils the opportunity to try out new skills and challenge themselves across many different areas.
Sleeping in lovely safari-style bell tents, that sleep approximately 10 children, students will get to experience the joys of sleeping out under the stars with their classmates. This is an exciting and integral the Bushcraft experience where they will create happy memories that last a lifetime!
All our camps have a central kitchen where meals are freshly prepared for students. Students will get three meals a day and as well as hot chocolate and marshmallows in the evening. We can cater to all dietary requirements, making delicious meals for anyone who stays with us and we run nut-free camps.
Our passionate staff all have experience working on camps of this kind and also receive intensive in-house training as well as obtaining qualifications from national governing bodies for specialised activities such as archery. All our staff are hand-picked to match our values, with a vision of adventure and the real outdoors at their core.
Camp leaders were engaging and informative, great personalities that mixed with the children well, brilliant at making sure everyone got as much out of the trip as possible.
The course delivery was excellent, the students had an excellent time and really enjoyed themselves whilst learning many new skills and made many new friends.
