How to Do Nature Bingo at School
Nature bingo is a fun and educational activity that can be enjoyed by children of all ages. It’s a great way to get kids outdoors, to learn about nature, and to have some friendly competition.
Here’s how to do it:
- Make a bingo board: You can either create your own bingo board or print one out from a website. You can make the board 5×5, 4×4, or 3×3 depending on the difficulty.
- Add different items to the bingo cards: Have your students to fill the bingo card with different things they’ll expect to find outside such as flowers, trees, insects and animals.
- Go on a nature walk: Take your students on a nature walk in your schoolyard or in a nearby park. As you walk, have the children look for the items on their bingo boards.
The first child to get five items in a row wins! You can also play for three in a row or four in a row.
Here are some tips for playing nature bingo:
- Make sure the children are familiar with the items on the bingo boards before you go on the nature walk. You can do this by reading them a book about nature or by showing them pictures of the items.
- If you are playing with young children, you may want to start with a few simple items on the bingo boards. As they get older, you can add more items.
- Make sure the nature walk is appropriate for the age of the children. If you are working with young children, you may want to choose a short and easy walk.
- Be prepared for anything! The weather may change, or the children may get tired. Be flexible and be prepared to change your plans if necessary.
Nature bingo is a great way to get kids outdoors, to learn about nature, and to have some fun. So get out there and play!
