Boasting a mesmerizing lake that serves as a thriving habitat for various fish species. As you wander along the shoreline, you may catch a glimpse of the elegant carp gracefully gliding through the water or admire the hard-fighting bream darting beneath the surface. However, don’t let these aquatic creatures steal all the spotlight! Penshurst Place is also a haven for British beetles, with one captivating species stealing the show – the ladybird. Did you know that these delightful creatures are actually classified as beetles? Take a closer look, and you might spot their vibrant red shells adorned with characteristic black spots.
Home to truly majestic sights both in the skies and on the ground. Look up, and you’ll be treated to the awe-inspiring sight of the Red kites soaring above. These magnificent birds of prey, with their striking reddish-brown plumage and gracefully forked tails, are a true delight to behold. Meanwhile, on the forest floor, the fleet-footed hares scamper amongst the foliage, their large ears alert to any potential danger.
