Our Bushcraft residentials are packed full of exciting outdoor activities that all take place in the beautiful woodlands.
Coming to the woodlands on our Bushcraft residentials is an unforgettable experience for students. From sleeping in bell tents underneath the stars to having fun around the campfire at night, our camps are full of memory-making moments.
What really makes a lasting impression is the activities we have on offer, which allow students to get stuck into things they may have never done before. On their trip, students will get involved in multiple bushcraft activities throughout the day that challenge different skills and give students the taste of life as an adventurer.
Another vital skill in the world of bushcraft. Participants are taught techniques to start a fire using friction, such as the classic bow drill. This ancient knowledge is not only fascinating but essential for survival. The process of gathering tinder, kindling, and larger fuel provides insights into the importance of resourcefulness and patience.
Students learn how to construct reliable and functional shelters using natural materials found in the environment and discover the art of creating secure havens that protect them from the elements. Students also have the opportunity to sleep under their construction.
Under the guidance of experts, students discover various techniques for constructing efficient traps to catch small game. From snare traps to deadfalls, participants learn to identify suitable locations and use natural resources in a responsible and sustainable manner. This provides a glimpse into the ancient hunting methods while helping develop patience and observational skills.
This is an exhilarating activity that requires precision and focus. Whether axe throwing or archery – this ancient skill not only hones hand-eye coordination, but it also brings out the inner warrior within, igniting a sense of adventure and competitiveness.
